Basic Roof with Double Roman Concrete roof tiles
Roof
New house roofs are mostly framed with trussed rafters, although rafters are still used. Office and commercial buildings usually have a reinforced concrete slab, while factories and warehouses use portal frames or girders with northlights. Roofs can be flat or pitched and have many different types of roofing.
Roof Covering
Roman tile is a British single-lap tile. The single Roman tile is not standard and has one waterway. The double Roman tile is standardized and has two waterways separated by a central roll.
In Revit, the roof truss is drawn using a structural truss family which provides a count and length measurement to SkyBIM. In addition, the roof covering is drawn using basic roof family which provides pitched area measurement to SkyBIM.
