Object to measure: Site Clearance
Digging up and removing rubbish, debris, vegetation, hedges, shrubs and trees based on entire area of site.
i. Site clearance [Area]
Draw an area in Revit 3m away from each side of the building

Object to measure: Bulk excavations and filling
Open face excavation in earth over sloping site based on volume of sloping site for cut and fill
i. Excavation Cut [Volume]
Manually add volumes from Revit to Skybim
ii. Backfilling to excavations [Volume]
Manually add volumes from Revit to Skybim

Object to measure: Earth filling and compacting
Earth filling supplied by the contractor, compacted to 98% Mod AASHTO density under floors, steps, pavings, etc
i. Earth Filling and compacting [Horizontal: Volume]
Use floor area for both hardcore and paving

Roof

New house roofs are mostly framed with trussed rafters, although rafters are still used. Office and commercial buildings usually have a reinforced concrete slab, while factories and warehouses use portal frames or girders with northlights. Roofs can be flat or pitched and have many different types of roofing.

Roof Covering

Roman tile is a British single-lap tile. The single Roman tile is not standard and has one waterway. The double Roman tile is standardized and has two waterways separated by a central roll.

In Revit, the roof truss is drawn using a structural truss family which provides a count and length measurement to SkyBIM. In addition, the roof covering is drawn using basic roof family which provides pitched area measurement to SkyBIM.

The visible upper surface of a room, which can be an open slab soffit, or any type of dry lining fixed to floor joists or ceiling joists, or a suspended ceiling, or a stretched covering. A roof light can form part of a ceiling. Ceilings are usually painted white or a light colour.

In Revit, the ceiling is drawn using a Ceiling family which provides count, area and perimeter measurement to SkyBIM.
